Student entering this level should be able to express themselves in most common situations and hold conversations on a range of topics. They can understand the main point of many radio or TV programs on current affairs when delivery is relatively slow and clear. They can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans, and narrate a story or plot of a book or film. They need to consolidate what they know and are ready to learn new and more complex forms and advanced vocabulary.
Students that would most benefit at the ‘Advanced’ level would have already been exposed to, and should be able to utilize the elements of the Italian language that are listed in the Grammatical and Communicative Goals for all levels through the ‘Upper Intermediate’ level.
Students should have also been exposed to at least 500-600 guided teaching hours before entering this stage.
